Those wishing to participate need to submit their list of five (5) 'celebrities' who they think might pass on during 2008. Entries will be accepted through the last day of February 2008. Players may not submit the name of a celebrity who has already passed prior to the date/time of their submission. If a dispute arises, the website Dead or Alive will be consulted. Player's submitted names will be in play from the time their list is received. Players' first name and last initial will be posted here as well as their list and running score.
Here's how to keep score at home.
5 points for each "departure"
Bonus points:
2 additional points if the deceased is under
50
5 additional points if the deceased is under 40
10 additional points if the deceased is under 30
25 additional points if the deceased is under 21
5 additional points for drug-related deaths
10 points for non-drug-related accidental deaths
10 points for suicide
2x point multiplier if more than one celebrity on your list go
in the same event (vehicle accident, plane crash, murder-suicide,
etc.) Multiplier is applied to total points for the event.
Bonus points are cumulative.
Example
If you picked an 18 year old celebrity who
died accidentally on a ski slope, your score would be as follows:
Death: 5 points
Under 50: 2 points
Under 40: 5 points
Under 30: 10 points
Under 21: 25 points
Accident (non-drug): 10 points
Total: 57 points
If another celebrity of 18 years was also killed
in the same accident (an avalanche or maybe they collided on the
bunny slope) and was also on your list, you would get another
57 points plus the multiplier bonus for a grand total of 228 points.
